Description: SNAP-8, also known as Acetyl Octapeptide-3, is a synthetic octapeptide engineered as an extended analog of Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline®). It was designed to mimic a portion of the SNAP-25 protein, a key component of the SNARE complex responsible for neurotransmitter release at neuromuscular junctions.

In laboratory research, SNAP-8 is investigated for its interaction with SNARE complex assembly and neurotransmitter release mechanisms. By competitively mimicking the N-terminal region of SNAP-25, researchers study its ability to modulate cellular communication pathways involved in muscle contraction and neuronal signaling.

Because of its well-characterized mechanism and enhanced stability compared with earlier peptide analogs, SNAP-8 has become an important research tool in studies involving peptide signaling, neuromuscular biology, cosmetic science, and protein–protein interactions.

Research Overview
